On the afternoon of the last day of the seminar, we offer you the opportunity to participate to either an offshore or an onshore site visit.
When: Friday 4th of Novermber, from 12 PM to 19 PM
Where: In the North Sea, near the Belgian offshore wind farms
What: Get a whole new perspective on our 11th province, the North Sea and wind energy. During the 5-hour boat trip, relax and enjoy the healthy sea air while listening to some interesting facts about the Belgian offshore wind farms. The end point is the wind turbine park on the Thornton Bank, about 30 km from the coastline. A unique experience and a perfect opportunity to take a selfie with the beautiful offshore wind turbines ! English folders are available on the ship with more information about the windmills and the wind energy.
Note: this visit will depend on the weather conditions on the day: it will be cancelled if the weather is too bad. In case of cancellation, all offshore site visit participants will automatically join the onshore site visits.
How to get there: Travel arrangement have been made for you: a bus will depart at 12 PM from BMCC and will take you to the port of Oostende. The bus will also take you back to BMCC at the end of the visit.
For the onshore site visit, you can choose between two options:
- RelyOn Nutec
- e-BO, and Coastal & Ocean Basin (COB)
When: Friday 4th of Novermber, from 13.30 PM to 17 PM
Where: RelyOn Nutec training facility, in Oostende
What: RelyOn Nutec is a global leader in safety and survival training, emergency response and crisis management for the traditional offshore, maritime, offshore wind and high risk industries.
